Astral Lapse

feudally While filming an upcoming reality tv series in the middle of the woods, I managed to sneak in some time to set up the 7D to record a still frame timelapse of the clear starry sky. It’s something you don’t get to see too often living downtown Toronto. There was a total of 300 pics taken, each exposed for 28 seconds and stitched together using Quicktime’s image sequence. Exported in FCP with a slight touch of color to bring out the white in the stars.

This spring I was asked to film a pilot project with my 7D. The basis was about 4 television hosts working in the city so I was asked to gather busy Toronto footage for b-roll.  This still timelapse taken with the Canon 7D. 1 frame every 5 seconds.  Reason for shooting stills rather than straight video was to give me a higher resolution timelapse in order to give me more flexibilty in post to accomplish deeper pans and zooms.  I’ll be posting much more from that pilot and hopefully soon, the pilot intro itself.
